Having raised 4 children in Newbury Park over the last 20 years I have a solid understanding of the community and the resources that are available for child care and child education in the area. I chose to place my youngest in the care of Christ the King Preschool and I'm happy to say that it was a great decision! It is an amazing environment and the teaching staff will have your child's best interests and positive development in mind. It is family-centric, and they teach positive values that might get less focus from more mainstream childcare services. My daughter attended this preschool from age 2 until she began kindergarten in fall of 2023. She loves this school, and still talks about how much she misses it.
My daughter started in the Butterflies class at age 2, and moved through the classes until the Owls, the oldest class. Her teacher in the Butterflies was the perfect transition from being at home with me, to going into a classroom for the first time. Her warmth, understanding, and patience were (and still are) unmatched.
The Director of the school is very communicative, she thrives on parent feedback, and I truly believe does everything in her power to ensure a safe and welcoming environment In the preschool.
All the staff there is happy to be working with children, so smiley and kind and patient with them. I've been to (and worked at) preschools where the teachers are miserable, don't like children, and only working for the paycheck. This is not that kind of place at all.
The school uses Brightwheel, an app that I found valuable in those years she was at preschool. You can see what they're crafting, eating, playing that day. You get an instant report and photo if your little one scrapes her knee. Even a quick mention of how they've cheered up afterward. Truly a great tool, and well implemented by all staff members.

My son loves Christ the King so much! He has been going here for 2 years. All the teachers are super loving and wants to get to know everyone in the family. Through the pandemic, we have gotten lots of brainstorming ideas for entertaining and educating our child and they even drop off surprise gifts a few times at our door that my son loved. My twins have been attending Christ the King since they were 3 years old, First I would like to say this Preschool is AMAZING we first came across this school last year 2019 around Halloween, the school put together a Pumpkin Patch (which by the way was the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER) we met Mrs. Sarah the Director & welcomed us...she was very polite & inviting! My husband, twins & myself felt very much at home!
I really want to stress the fact how just like other parents are concern about COVID we never in a million years question our kids going back to Christ the King when they re-opened. The school took & are taking this matter very serious, here are some examples of what measures they took. Most of the learning & playground time is taking place outdoors, they added more shaded areas to accommodate the kids in order for them to feel comfortable & stay cool, teachers & family members are required to wear mask, only 1 family member is allowed to enter the campus to drop off or pick up your children, as the kids enter the campus the parent electronically check-in the kids answers a a couple of questions concerning COVID & take the children's temperature. The made it really easy for the parents & kids when dropping off the faucet to wash their hands is right next to the electronic check-in. Kids are asked to wash their hands coming & leaving the school & as ALWAYS they are washing their hands constantly through out the day (this was always done prior to Covid) As soon as the school re-opened my twins started attending & thank goodness for the measures the school took & is taking my kids are safe and sound & most important they are physical interacting with their classmates, enjoying school & learning.
Honestly, my kids don't qualify for TK but had they did, we would have kept them at Christ the King until Kindergarten started with the hope that by then they would be physically attending!
I would highly recommend Christ the King the school & staff are truly one-of-a-kind!

We had a very good experience at Christ the King Preschool in Newbury Park. My daughter attended both full-time and part-time as my work situation changed. I loved the designated play areas, covered sandbox, padded play area, tricycle area. I found the environment to be very nurturing. We visited many preschools before deciding on this one. We liked the size, playground and guidance they gave children to be kind to one another and be inclusive. I'm glad we had this before hitting the harsh realities of public kindergarten. Our son has been attending Christ the King Preschool for the past 3 years and the school feels almost like a second family to us. He looks forward to going to school every week and really enjoys his time there. Christ the King Preschool offers a caring environment where kids are encouraged to reach their full potential through fun, educational activities and the nurturing attention of a wonderful staff. We just enrolled our second child at Christ the King. Our oldest attended for 2 1/2 years and we love it there! Our son was very well prepared for Kindergarten. After a year away we are glad to be back with our daughter. She enjoys going to school, and we find the staff to be cheerful and professional. The classrooms are clean, and the outdoor play area offers a lot of variety for the children to enjoy. C S.

My Grandson has attended the preschool for the last 2 years and will now move into elementary school with the basis needed to be at the top level of kindergarten students! I love the staff that has been very nurturing group for my Grandson over the last two years.
Christ the King Preschool is a lovely place for children. The classrooms are clean, organized and full of interactive play things for children to enjoy. The staff are friendly and caring. The class schedules are full of fun and engaging activities and the curriculum for the students is perfect to begin preparation for kindergarten. I really love the small class sizes and personal attention each child receives. I was impressed by the the entire facility including the adorable playground. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter attends this school. I have never seen her happier. She is always eager to go to the school. The director, Cari, seems to truly care for all the children. She is very welcoming and loving to them. The play yard is very inviting. I was impressed with the size of the play yard and the large variety of activities for the outside play time. All the teachers seem happy, loving and friendly. And the classrooms are inviting, colorful and fully supplied with whatever the children may need or want to play with.
